Any ad that Dove creates involving children and women is memorable to me.
The advertisements are simple, powerful, emotional and relatable. The campaign Dove Love Your Curls is a perfect example of how they use a problem to some and find an effective way to convey their message. I shared a link of a video Dove released of children with curly hair. They discussed if they liked their curls or not. All of them expressed why they didn't like their curls and how they would want straight hair sometimes. In between there were statistics or quotes they shared. For example “only 4 out of ten curly haired girls think their hair is beautiful” was the second clip into the video. The advertisement was telling a story and journey of the girls and their moms. Throughout the video they were all dancing and embracing their curls.
I have curly hair and I related to the video. It also made me embrace my curls. I am also a Dove consumer and I perceive the brand as empowering women. This advertisement inspires me to not only embrace my curls, but help young girls love their curls. There was a quote at the end saying “girls are 7 times more likely to love their curls if people around them do”. That was a powerful statement and made me think about how much I love my curls. I also make other embrace their curly hair, giving tips and advice on products to use. This advertisements was about loving your curls, but it was also about loving yourself and not being afraid to embrace who you are.
This is a link toy Dove’s mission statement. From an advertising and company perspective they do an amazing job presenting their mission statement to the public.

Here is another link from Dove on products to use for different types of curly hair. This is a great place to try their products where it’s clear and descriptive for their customers.
